No, Crab Island and a Destin beach day are completely different experiences. The beach provides sand, surf, and room to spread out onshore, while Crab Island is a submerged sandbar where visitors arrive by boat and spend much of their time swimming, floating, or relaxing aboard the vessel. Both are worth doing during a longer first visit.
