Use the day for activities away from Gulf swimming rather than treating the vacation as ruined. Double red flags mean entering the Gulf is illegal within Gulf Shores and Orange Beach city limits, but visitors can still explore Gulf State Park, visit the zoo, go to The Wharf or OWA, tour Fort Morgan, shop, dine, or take part in an activity that an operator confirms can safely run in protected waters. Beach flag conditions specifically govern Gulf swimming and do not automatically mean every attraction in the area closes.
