A first Myrtle Beach trip should include the beach, one major entertainment area, and one experience that shows a different side of the Grand Strand. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and SkyWheel give visitors the classic oceanfront experience, while Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing covers the area's big entertainment-and-dining side. Add something like Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park, Murrells Inlet, a live show, or a water excursion so the trip does not become seven straight days of hotel-beach-repeat. The greater Myrtle Beach area stretches across roughly 60 miles of coastline, so there is much more here than the central resort strip.
