Choose inland if the savings are meaningful and beach convenience is not a major priority. Oceanfront lodging earns its premium when the family repeatedly uses direct beach access, can return to the room easily, and values the view. Paying substantially more for oceanfront while leaving the hotel at 8:00am every day to tour attractions can be poor value.
