A first trip should include an Okaloosa Island beach day, one experience on the water, and at least one attraction that is specific to the Fort Walton Beach area. Walking the Island Pier, visiting Gulfarium, taking a dolphin or Crab Island excursion, and exploring either The Boardwalk or downtown Fort Walton Beach gives visitors a much better feel for the destination than spending every day at the condo. The area is compact enough that visitors can mix beach time and attractions without turning every day into a major road trip.
