Yes, Pensacola Beach has shallow water nearby, and they are located on the sound side around Santa Rosa Sound, Little Sabine Bay, and Quietwater Beach. Those areas are more protected than the Gulf side, so beginners get a better place to kneel first, stand up slowly, and get used to balance before paddling farther. Many rental spots start guests in water that is only a few feet deep near the launch area.
