The pontoon ride from a Grand Lagoon marina to Shell Island is 20min to 30min. The exact time depends on the marina location, no wake zones, boat traffic, and where the rental company sends you along St. Andrews Bay. From many Panama City Beach rental docks, the ride is short enough that a pontoon rental still leaves a solid amount of time to anchor near the island, swim, eat, and head back to the dock.
