Yes, dolphins are seen near Shell Key Preserve on morning cruises, especially on routes leaving from Pass a Grille, Merry Pier, or nearby St. Pete Beach docks. Morning dolphin trips put the boat around Boca Ciega Bay, Bunces Pass, and the edge of Shell Key Preserve when the water is calmer, and wildlife activity is easier to spot. One of our favorite tours for seeing dolphins is the Shell Key Ferry or the Dolphin Quest Tour is a good one too.
