If a jet ski takes in sand or debris while riding near a shallow island, it can cause the engine to overheat or become damaged. The operator inspects and clears the propulsion system before the watercraft goes back out. Jet ski rentals through Happy Harbor Marina visit Bird Island, Robinson Island, and Rabbit Island, but damage caused by entering water that is too shallow remains the renter’s responsibility under the rental agreement.
