You can get to Crab Island by boat. Crab Island is not a real island, it's actually a sandbar underneath the water so the only way to reach it would be by boat or jet. The most affordable option is a public excursion boat such as the Destin Harbor: Crab Island Catamaran Excursion aboard the Sunventure. Public excursion boats allow you to ride with other customers out to Crab Island for a cheaper rate than a pontoon or jet ski. These boats also have lifeguard certified personal on board as well as bathrooms. The excursions last from 2-4 hours depending on the company you book.
