How does the program work?When a business is accepted into the program, their products are offered online for booking. Guests that are browsing the website may book these items online and select their rooms/tickets, dates, and additional options. When the guest completes the purchase, the business is notified of the booking and must confirm. After the guest completes the tour or stay, the business will be paid the following month minus the commission.
How much does it cost to join?It's free to join and there are no monthly or yearly fixed costs. The only charge is a small commission when a booking is realized.
How does TripShock! advertise?TripShock! will advertise through other affiliate websites, search engines, and online articles. The website received more than 2.9 million visits in 2014, 3.5 million in 2015, and expect over 5.2 million in 2016!
Why do people book with TripShock!?Although there are many other bookings engines that make hotel and activity reservations, travelers choose TripShock! because of its easy booking platform and personalized vacation planning. The TripShock team is all local to the Gulf Coast and has a knack for finding the best excursions in the area. Unlike TripAdvisor or Yelp, all reviews on TripShock! are verified (This means the guest actually has to participate in order to leave a review).
Is this the same as Groupon or Living Social?TripShock! is not the same, but has some similarities. The biggest difference is that we are not as aggressive on the commission or the discounts. The commission per booking from Living Social and Groupon is more than double the average commission charged by TripShock!. Another difference is that all users of TripShock! must schedule their hotel or activity upon booking. Groupon and Living Social sell vouchers that need to be used between a certain time frame, which limits customers if they are wanting to go on a sold out day.
