We had a great time (and luckily great weather) during our 6 hour fishing trip on 12/18/16. It was a full boat (35 people), but we had enough room to fish and caught at least 25-30 fish (able to keep 12-13 that were in season). The crew was awesome, particularly Pete, for helping take off our fish and answer all of our questions. It was a 6 hour trip, but we stayed out an extra hour to keep fishing. They filleted all the fish, and we took some to Dewey Destin's Restaurant, where they cooked them for us that night. I don't usually get sea sick, but did on this trip. I would recommend Dramamine for sure. We thought the value for this trip was great and would definitely do it again if we return to Destin.Verified TripShock! Traveler Review

Thanks Jamie for coming out! We are so sorry you got sick. That does happen for some people from time to time. We definitely recommend taking dramamine or some form of motion sickness pill the night before your trip so that way it's already in your system when you board the boat. Our crew had a great time helping you guys too and were glad you got to take advantage of cooking your catch! Please come back and see us soon!

I saw the Red Snapper season had been extended and drove down from Atlanta with that in mind. No mention was made that this boat was only in Federal waters and you can't keep the Reds. Would have been nice to know. I was also informed while I was driving down there that the boat may or may not go out due to a lack of reservations. I would have fared better not making reservations and winging it. The reservations definitely limited my options. As for the boat, the crew couldn't have been friendlier and that includes the lady at the ticket booth. The captain was very focused on our coming home with fish and I got a stringer full. Very successful trip. They will not let you use your own gear which is another huge big factor to me. They want tourists to do it their way and cause no hassles for... read moreVerified TripShock! Dan, Thank you for the feedback! Our booth girls, captains, deckhands and even the Tripshock booking agents are well versed in what is in season and what isn't. So we are sure if you had asked then any one of them would have clarified the Snapper regulations for you. We know they can be difficult to understand since they change every year (and sometimes twice a year!). The boat has to have a minimum number of paid passengers to run on any trip, year round. We have to make sure we can pay for fuel, our employees, etc before we can even leave the dock. Customers that chose to "wing it" may not always have a spot on the boat if it sells out. And if you're that person that waits to book then the trip may not go out if you would have been the deciding person for the minimum. That's why we always suggest reservations. We are VERY happy to hear you enjoyed your trip but we're a little confused about the tackle for tourists. Our customers are DEFINITELY allowed to bring their own poles and tackle if they wish. That's always been our policy and our captain's policies. We'll have a talk with the crew just to ensure the wrong information isn't being told to customers. We know just how important is it to have your "lucky rod" with you! Thanks for taking the time to write your review and giving us time to respond! We appreciate your business!

I have wanted my husband to take me deep sea fishing for years, and hecfinally booked an excursion. This was the best! The tour departed on time; a crew member tutored us on how to handle the rods and reels and to listen for the captain's signal to drop and pull up our lines. The crew was extremely helpful and informative. End result, we left the boat with lots of fish and we had a marvelous time catching them! I would recommend Olin Marler Fishing Cruises to everyone.Verified TripShock! Traveler Review

What a great time. The four of us enjoyed the entire day. We saw dolphins jumping in the water. We caught 40 fish to take home. In addition we caught 10 fish that had to be thrown back because of size, out of season, or undesirability. Regardless it was fun landing them. The crew was great, very helpful and friendly. The ship was wonderful, clean and plenty large. The Gulf was a little rough, but a real pleasure. We highly recommend this deep sea fishing adventure.Verified TripShock! Traveler Review
