Deep Sea Fishing Party Boat in Destin
Embark on an unforgettable offshore fishing adventure with the friendly folks at Olin Marler Charters. Party boat...
Tons of fish that were caught in a short 10hr tour. Keep in mind that fishing is a gamble and your trip may be better or worse. The crew was hard working and one of the one guy was very diligent to help us. A few other of the crew members expected you to get it on the first time and not so much patient. Nonetheless, great time.
My daughter is in a wheelchair. They were accommodating and she loved it!
My husband, my father and I went deep sea fishing on 7-16. We took the 10 hour tour on the Gulf Breeze with Captain Gibson. We caught a boatload of fish! We limited out on the delicious Vermillion Snapper ( Mingos or Beeliners) 330 for the boat. We also caught a ton of White Snapper and large Red Snapper. We caught a whole lot of Trigger fish, but they were out of season so we had to throw them back. The captain knew just where to go and if the fish weren’t biting hard right away then we would pull up and move on. He really wanted everyone to catch the most fish possible. He was also an expert at moving the boat just enough so that everyone’s lines went straight down and we did not get tangled up. Definitely an expert captain. Our deckhands were Alex and Alex along with First Mate Jon. They were super friendly and helpful, and I’ve never seen a group of more hard working guys! They were constantly moving and working from before the time we got there until long after we left I’m sure. They really made it a smooth experience. This was our first time, so I’m going to give some tips for other first timers. When choosing the length of your trip, keep in mind that it is always 2 hours out and 2 hours back. The remaining amount of time is the time that you will actually get to fish. ( I think the 4 hour trip stays close to land and catches different types of fish) It is HOT! Pack lots and lots of water and hydrate and sunscreen up with high SPF before you go. A cooling towel would have been the best thing ever to have in that heat. Dress in very light breathable clothing. They use circle hooks for the health of the fish. These hooks aren’t usually swallowed and almost always hook the lip. That being said, I usually fish fresh water and found the circle hooks difficult to bait at first. It would be helpful to use some of that 2 hour drive time out to practice and get fast at baiting the hook and familiarize yourself with the reel. The faster you bait and reel, the more fish you can catch! It is nothing like freshwater fishing! There is no waiting for a bite! Once you hit bottom, it is max 4 seconds before you need to reel in your fish! I will never go with another boat! They have made a believer out of me! My father has been deep sea fishing over 20 times and he said this was his best trip by far!
