Deep Sea Fishing in Shallow Waters?

Huge let down. Weather and Mechanical Malfunction forced us to change charters, Patti at TripShock was great about getting us re-booked; went on and on about how great the new charter was. How successful Captain Nicky was as a fisherman. Well we didn't get Captain Nicky, we got Captain Justin. We also ended up on a smaller boat than originally booked, never left the bay, and caught small catfish which I can catch in my pond at home. Captain Justin spent most of his time on his cell phone, only brought 2 lures for catching bait fish, and lost one almost immediately. I definitely over paid for my experience. I know fishing can be a hit or miss, but I paid for deep sea shark fishing not under the bridge catfish catching.

Okay Trip

We caught fish, but only 3 keepers (vermillion snapper). The kids got to see some sharks and dolphins. All in all a decent experience, but the captain was a bit impatient. He gave conflicting instructions on handling the rods and how he wanted us to reel and pull the fish in. We paid for a 4 hour trip, but got back to the dock after 3.5 hours. Albeit we did have a seasick child onboard, so that was probably why.
