Hurricane Katrina Bus Tour By Grayline New Orleans

ONLINE EXCLUSIVE: Use Online Coupon Code KATRINA10 for 10% Additional Discount on your Tickets!

Get an eyewitness account of the events surrounding the most devastating natural - and man-made - disaster on American soil with a local’s chronology of events leading up to Hurricane Katrina and the days immediately following the disaster. Drive past an actual levee that “breached” and see New Orleans' neighborhoods affected and how these neighborhoods have redeveloped years later. Learn the direct connection between America’s disappearing coastal wetlands, oil & gas pipelines, levee protection, and hurricane destruction. See Lake Pontchartrain and visit the New Basin Canal Lighthouse, previously destroyed by Katrina. Your guided tour of this museum offers a bird’s eye view of the area, including the levees along the lakefront and, in the distance, the longest bridge over water in the world, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.

Good tour

Would help if maps were shown so we would know where we were - passed many sites and along levees and different areas of the city. It was great to have a guide who was passionate about the story being told.

Our tour guide, Bruce, was excellent, who was a journalist at the time of Katrina for a New Orleans newspaper. This trip is well worth the price for over 3 hours of in depth history, compared to other tours in NOLA. Highly recommended.

This was very insightful and well executed. It should be made a little clearer that proceeds from every single tour are donated to affected Hurricane Katrina victims.
