It was fantastic! Gary was a great guide. We loved the slow pace and peacefulness of kayaking. Thank you

Peace in the midst of this “unprecedented time”

My 20-year-old son and I thoroughly enjoyed a quiet paddle through a bayou and a swamp, and the educated, lovable, quirky Max will tell you the difference between the two. He’ll also tell you the difference in an alligator and a crocodile, as well as a beaver and a nutria. This wonderful guide is equal parts informative naturalist and funny great-uncle, who gives you any and all information you’d want on this environment, sprinkling in charming stories of his relationship with this nature. (Including a story in which his family briefly had a nutria as a pet, until the animal’s habit of eating half its weight in grass everyday— and the poop that followed — dampened the family’s enthusiasm. ) We’d both highly recommend this option over the more touristy boats that feed alligators and motor over the quiet of 1000-year-old cypresses, baby eagles and rippling waters. Especially in this anxiety- producing pandemic time. This was a true respite from all.

we did see small alligators, that was the best part for me. Very little about the marine life and mostly about the flora and fauna above water. Unfortunately, we were hit by really cold pounding rain for at least a third of the trip.
