My small group booked tours at three different popular plantations in the area. I could safely say that while it was hard to decide on which one we liked more in terms of appearance, the tour of this one was far and away better than the others. We were blessed with Phyllis who not only told us about the house itself, she educated us on life in the day. She was incredibly knowledgeable and told it how it was while still being politically correct. She was also dressed for the period which we thought was super cool, as were other guides. On a side note, this plantation is also a hotel. Had we known, I think we would have arrived the night before and stayed into the next morning to enjoy the tour and then move forward. On another side note, if you happen to rent a car to drive out here, this plantation is also pretty close to Baton Rouge. We went right after to enjoy a second city(we were visiting New Orleans). Two big birds with one stone!

Felt a little in the way as they were setting up for a reception of some kind.
