Oak Alley & Whitney Plantation Combo Tour From New Orleans

LANDMARK TOUR: Historic Landmarks Oak Alley & Whitney COMBO Plus Ride From NOLA. Use Coupon Code CMBO15 for 5% OFF

Step back in time to two New Orleans’ most famous plantations: Oak Alley & Whitney. Explore Oak Alley Plantation, with its picturesque alley of live oak trees, and Whitney Plantation, a memorial to the slave labor of the American south.

Hear the fascinating stories behind these historic landmarks. During the scenic drive out to the plantations, your certified tour guide will provide commentary on major landmarks and the changing Louisiana landscape, from downtown New Orleans, to the swamps and waterways, and through the vast crops and fields unique to this part of the country.

“Grande Dame” of the Louisiana River Road plantations, Oak Alley gets its name from the spectacular quarter mile alley of 28 oak trees that frame the driveway as you approach. Built in 1839 and facing the Mississippi River, the magnificent entrance to Oak Alley Plantation makes it a “Must See” destination on everyone’s list of historic Louisiana sites. Oak Alley Plantation has been featured in a number of movies and TV series, including the movie “Interview with a Vampire,” and Beyonce’s “Deja Vu” music video.

Whitney Plantation stands out from other attractions by truly paying homage to the slaves responsible for its rise and dates back to the early 1700’s. Learn about plantation life from the perspective of slaves through museum exhibits and first-person narratives. Walk in the footsteps of those who lived and toiled here as you visit preserved slave cabins and the Creole 'Big House'.

Visit a number of memorials which dot the grounds, including a series of angled granite walls engraved with the names of the 107,000 slaves who spent their lives in Louisiana before 1820.

Whitney & Oak Alley

Very disappointed due to the fact we had to spend most of our time allocated at the Whitney plantation and had next to no time at Oak Alley... Your company should’ve made the tour person aware that because of a wreck on the highway that we were short on time, very poor customer service management...

Smart way to park
Parking at the Embassy Suites turned out to be a smart decision. Checking in and parking were easy. When I returned, the shuttle picked me up within 15 minutes and the driver was friendly and entertaining. Upon return, I found my car safe and sound. Thus, the process was easy and affordable. My only issue was the shuttle going to the airport. After checking in, I waited for 20 minutes for the shuttle and got a little nervous because I was short on time to catch my flight. I called an Uber. My Uber arrived 8 minutes later, and still no sight of the shuttle. The Uber cost me an additional $10. When I spoke to the driver upon return, he said shared that shuttles generally arrive and leave every 30 minutes, so I'm figuring I just missed the shuttle when I arrived at the Embassy Suites. Great to know. Despite this minor incident, I would use the parking at Embassy Suite again.
