    We didn't see anything

My group of 5 boarded what seemed like an overbooked cruise and after repeatedly going level by level, we were finally able to find seating on the right side of the boat. All the points of interest mentioned was obviously on the left side of the boat, so we literally saw nothing. After watching seagulls for majority of the trip, seeing an old prison and a few water Marshalls I decided to buy our group some cocktails. While at the bar, I noticed that the tour was ending and we were about to head back down the river. With excitement I told my group they would finally get to see some things and take some photos; I thought surely that the guests on the right side of the boat would now be able to see what the guests on the left side of the boat had just seen. To my surprise, the boat didn't... read more

    Natchez Lunch Cruise

The cruise was a lot of fun. My family opted for the buffet lunch and the food was very good. Additionally there was a Jazz Band to listen to while eating, so the experience was very enjoyable. It was basically half guided tour by the Captain as we sailed down the Mississippi River and half eating and listening to Jazz, so I would recommend it to all tourists.

    Not worth the cost

    Dismal riverfront scenery, food mediocre.

While the lunchtime cruise is a popular option, next time consider the night time jazz cruise! You can book it with the dinner or simply book the cruise only and enjoy drinks, jazz music, and stunning New Orleans skyline lit up at night! It's a much different experience which you might enjoy much more. Thanks again for sharing your post and we hope to see you again! TripShock! Guest Service Manager

Steamboat Natchez daytime jazz cruise WITH lunch

My husband and I took our 2 daughters and their 7 kids on the steamboat Natchez daytime cruise WITH paid lunch Saturday November 18,2017. It was very nice until we went into the dining room for lunch and sat at our reserved table for 11 people. We were asked for our tickets at least 5 different times! We were not very happy being that we didn’t notice the staff checking anyone else for their tickets. It got very annoying after the third time. We did not want to make a scene so we just showed our tickets each time! The worse time was when my 29 yr old daughter had to come back to the table without her food to get her ticket to show them again!

    Wonderful tour enjoyed by all

Had a excellent time aboard the Natchez. They had a table set aside for my party of 9. The servers were extremely friendly and added to our relaxation. Was the quickest 2 hours in NOLA; went by too fast. Recommended for all.

    Not recommended

I book tickets online when I arrived we still had to stand in a line to get paper tickets and then stand in the even larger line because there were 1,200 people trying to board in a half an hour through one line. there were several uniform staff members who were just standing there talking to each other instead of creating two lines it was extremely disorganized. it was a very hot that day and there was no one assisting the customers that were in line. once we were on the boat the equipment is older and was packed with chairs with very narrow walking spaces it was an older boat which is not really a problem except that the chairs were not well maintained there were holes in the benches it was uncomfortable and nobody was helping to direct people to seating so there were parties of 2... read more

We're sorry to hear about your experience on the Steamboat Natchez and have shared your feedback to their management team so they may address these issues. It was a very full cruise, so that may explain some of the delays. The "holes" that you point out on the benches are actually designed that way for ventilation. The Steamboat Natchez has offered to refund your purchase for the full amount as they truly care for their passengers and value their customers' feedback. TripShock has issued your refund and they normally take 3-5 business days for processing. You will also receive a separate cancellation email/text confirming the refund. Thank you again for booking with us and we hope you come visit again soon! TripShock! Guest Service Manager

    Box ticked!

It's a pleasant tourist thing to do. Large enough boat with plenty of seating. I thought the bar prices were quite good. Food is pretty average but certainly edible. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice band to listen to while you eat. My only complaint is that the views aren't particularly great! It's an industrial river so don't go expecting picturesque scenes! However I found it interesting and there is commentary over the loudspeakers while you sail. I enjoyed it but once is enough.
