First stop - the beautiful Manchac Swamp where you'll enjoy a tour of our privately owned swamp. This swamp is occupied only by Cajun Pride boats which means fewer distractions during your tour and an impressive amount of alligator and other wildlife found in this eco-system. Our boat is covered and comfortable with opening viewing and the ability to stand and walk around which allows for more photo opportunities and full viewing of the beauty and excitement of the swamp.

Next stop - we'll bring you to the plantation of your choice: Laura or Oak Alley Plantation:
Laura: A Creole Plantation was built in 1805. Let the “Memoirs of Laura” transport you into the lives of 4 generations of this plantation’s Creole men, women, slaves and children. The fully guided experience includes the Big House, gardens and the original 1840s slave cabins in which the West-African folktales of Compair Lapin (later known as Br'er Rabbit) were recorded over 140 years ago.

Oak Alley Plantation was built in 1837-39. It is famous for its alley of 28 evenly spaced Live Oak trees, believed to be at least 100 years older than the big house. Perhaps the most photographed plantation ever, Oak Alley has been the setting for such motion pictures as "Interview with a Vampire", "Primary Colors" and the wedding of Bo and Hope from the daytime soap opera, "Days of our Lives".

    New Orleans

One of the best experience I had. The swamp tour was the best! Captain Allen was genuinely honest about his life living on the swamps. Shared a lot of great stories, stories I’ll share with my family when we get back home. I would highly recommend the swamp tour and plantation tour when visiting New Orleans

A Great VIP Tour of the Swamp and Memorable Tour of Laura Plantation

We really enjoyed the small group tour with Brandon of the swamp. He was very knowledgeable and took his time to let us see the wildlife that abounds in the swamp. The smaller boat does provide a flexible tour and a much better view. For the extra cost, it would be of value to provide water to guests - the cost to the company is much less than the $2 charged for bottled water. Little extras like that would make the extra cost even more attractive. ... read more

Swamp and Plantation Combo Tour from New Orleans

I loved the swamp experience and the knowledge shared by the guy steering the boat. He was really passionate about this area. The plantation tour gave a wonderful insight as to how the gentry ran their homes back in the day. The house is impressive and our guide explained the history of this beautiful home and gardens. I enjoyed the visit to both swamp and House.

    Swamp Tour

The trips is a must. But warning, the organization of bus pick up and drop off is a mess. First off we got picked up from our hotel. We boarded the wrong bus even after my wife asked if we were in the list. We almost missed our bus because they had to drop us off back at our hotel. After finally boarding the right bus we made it to the swamp. From French Quater to Swamp its about an hour. The swamp tour was amazing. Lots of gators. Small to medium size. Only saw one big gator. Lots of other animals. Our tour guide was hilarious and the swamp tour was well organized. However after the swamp tour you have to board another bus to get the the Plantation of your choice. Same mess. 3 bus drivers for the same tour all telling us different buses to board. We were told we were on one bus and then... read more

    Our tour

The tours themselves were great. Both of our guides were informative and entertaining. However, our driver was horrible. He calls us and says we will have to walk 5 blocks over to pick us up. His excuse was it would take to long to drive around and get us I said fine and we did. He then called me again because he couldn't find us and then he berated me because we didn't go the way he told us to. We are not from here. We are not familiar with New Orleans. He picks us up finally. I called cajun tours and she apologized and said he would drop us off. When we got back on bus to head back he once again gives us story about how he's just gonna drop us off where he picked us up because it would take HIM to long to drive us to hotel. I told him we were told he would take us to hotel and he said he... read more

Swamp Tour Excellent But Plantation tour to short on time

The swamp tour was excellent very knowledgable guide but was not informed to bring lunch. Was told there would be a time and a café at plantation to eat. But we got there and only have 1 hour to tour plantation and ground before bus left. Need more time for this tour. so overall for both tours I would rate the combination a Good not Excellent.

    Overall, a good trip

Caveat: the "all day" trip isn't really. You get picked up from hotel 10-10:30 and travel out to the swamp; there you want till 12 N when the swamp tour starts. Then you travel to the plantations and your tour starts around 2 and you leave at 4:30 getting you back to NOLA around 6. You spend a lot of time in a bus; in spite of this we liked the experience. ... read more
