You’re first stop is the beautiful Manchac Swamp where you'll enjoy a tour of our privately owned swamp. This swamp is occupied only by Cajun Pride boats which means fewer distractions during your tour and an impressive amount of alligator and other wildlife found in this magical ecosystem. Our boat is covered with open viewing and the ability to stand and walk around which allows for more photo opportunities of the beauty and excitement of the swamp.

The next stop we'll bring you to the plantation of your choice of either Laura or Oak Alley Plantation.

-Laura: A Creole Plantation built in 1805. Let the “Memoirs of Laura” transport you into the lives of 4 generations of this plantation’s Creole men, women, slaves, and children. The fully guided experience includes the Big House, gardens and the original 1840s slave cabins in which the West-African folktales of Compair Lapin (later known as Br'er Rabbit) were recorded over 140 years ago.

-Oak Alley Plantation built in 1837-39. It is famous for its alley of 28 evenly spaced Live Oak trees, believed to be at least 100 years older than the big house. Perhaps the most photographed plantation ever, Oak Alley has been the setting for such motion pictures as "Interview with a Vampire", "Primary Colors" and the wedding of Bo and Hope from the daytime soap opera, "Days of our Lives".

Activity Highlights
→ Historical and educational tour of Oak Alley or Laura: A Creole Plantation.
→ Fascinating true-life stories of the Plantation workers.

    Best tour for the price!

This was a fantastic tour, my favorite part of my New Orleans trip by far! The swamp part of the tour was awesome, lasting about 2 hours, we saw many alligators and our guide was entertaining, providing history of the area, info about the culture and the environment. We were even able to hold a baby gator! We went to Oak Alley plantation as the second stop on the tour, beautiful grounds were a must see. The interior of the house itself is not all original but presented with a replication of how it may have looked they did provided a brief guided tour through the house with a bit of the history behind it. Well worth the price since transportation is also provided!

    Great experience!

We had a wonderful time on this combo swamp-plantation tour! The swamp boat ride was amazing...we got to hold a gator, watch a gator being fed (and fight with a smaller gator over the food) and really enjoy the beauty of the swamp [shout out to Captain Brandon!]. The time at Oak Alley was really nice, too...and glad to do both things in a single day. Thank you Cajun Pride!

    Swamp& Plantation Combo

Our tour guide made the swamp tour very fun. Very knowledgeable also. I was also able to hold a baby alligator. The plantation tour however was very quick. You arent able to take pictures inside of the house but you are able to take pictures outside.

A fast-paced day of Alligators and Plantations

The best thing about booking this activity with TripShock was that it included transportation to and from the activity and all at a price less than a single plantation tour would be! The pickup was on time and the ride to the swamp was about 40 minutes. I had been on one other swamp tour and this one was better. Our guide Captain Danny was entertaining and had all the Southern Charm! There were so many alligators to be seen and we got to hold one. Following the swamp tour was a short ride to the plantation. There was the choice of two; either Laura or Oak Alley. We chose Oak Alley and given the choice to do it again I would go to Laura. Oak Alley was a bit disappointing. The grounds are stunning, but the Plantation house itself was a little dull and no pictures were allowed. You also did... read more
