Set out to sea to hook a prize-winning catch on a private charter with Great Escape Fishing Charters. With over 20 years...
Booking was very quick and easy. This was followed up with a text from the Captain about our expectations of the trip. Our group of 6 adults have all been fishing before so we will not newbies. We just wanted to go out and have a good time, maybe catch some dinner. The day of our trip, the weather didn't look amazing. It was cloudy and thunderstorms were promised for the afternoon. Capt Jason communicated with us before the trip and we discussed weather options. We braved the weather and went out anyway and are very glad we did! Capt Jason asked us if we wanted to catch live bait or buy some, we opted for saving time and bought some from a local live bait boat. Live bait fishing is apart of every fishing experience and since we've all done it before, we fig let's just get to fishing as quick as we can. We trolled on our way out to the fishing grounds and once we reached our destination, caught dozens of fish as well. Not everything was a keeper (that's a big part of fishing) but it was truly a blast! We even caught a huge cobia and saw a whale shark! Even though our trip was cut short, Capt Jason was great and had our safety in mind since we were no longer able to outrun the weather and it was getting rough. His deckhand, Cayman was also super fun and totally took care of our group, we never went without bait or help. My advice to people looking for a great State permitted boat is to definitely take this one! The boat is big, has an airconditioned cabin and prob the cleanest bathroom I've ever used on a boat. Take dramamine the night BEFORE your trip and bring cash to tip your deckhand. We caught some huge fish and can't wait to come back and do it again!
Captain Jason was excellent it was best experience my friends and I had.
We started dropping lines at 7am and were catching fish at 7:05am. This was an awesome trip with a great crew!!!
