Please check the restrictions and cancellation policy before booking, as it will state the maximum capacity per rental, and this number can change from rental company to rental company. It’s also important to know that everyone in your group, regardless of age, counts towards the total, even infants and small children.
While there are ways to get to Crab Island with the help of a captain, most pontoon rentals do not come with one. The knowledgeable staff at the rental company will be sure to provide you with proper instruction, so you can captain the vessel on your own with ease! Pontoon rentals are safe and fun for both experts and first timers.
If you were born before January 1, 1988, you do not need a boater’s license, just a valid driver’s license. If you were born on or after that date, then you will need to get a Florida boater’s license. Many rental companies will provide tests and issue temporary Florida boaters certificates on site. It is recommended to go over the restrictions and cancellation policy before booking your rental, as this will let you know if you need to obtain a license or not, and where to do so.
