I’ve always wanted to go see Oak Alley Plantation and it definitely lived up to the expectation. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the pace was great. We had time to explore the room before we moved to the next. The restaurant was amazing. I would recommend eating there after the tour. Try the 4 cheese pasta with the grilled shrimp, unbelievable

Spend the day along River Road visiting Louisiana’s most famous plantations. Laura Plantation: A Creole Heritage Site...
This tour looks perfect to me. We visited both plantations and learned a lot about their history. Even the drive itself was enjoyable because of the scenery around. The roads built in the swamps are very impressive! The only suggestion is regarding the pic up procedure. Standing for 30 minutes on the street is not very comfortable. I believe that the driver (or the company operator) could send messages to the participants to indicate a more exact time. Alternatively, we could wait in a hotel lobby and the driver would call us when required. Such practices are used in Cancun and elsewhere.
Seeing the plantations was exciting and informative. I's like to make a special commendation to Pam, our guide at Laura Plantation. She was entertaining and completely captivating, making the history of the people and the place come alive. I'll recommend the tour to anyone I know who is going to New Orleans.
Our driver Enika was great! She was knowledgeable and accommating. I enjoyed the tours but was under the impression we would have more time at each plantation. We were rushed through Oak Alley and had no time to ask questions.

Great staff and remarkable home and grounds.
Logan was an excellent guide... extremely knowledgeable, with an engaging presentation. Thouroughly enjoyed this tour!
Suzanna was such a delightful tour guide at Houmas House. Not only was she informative, but sweet, polite, and patient towards all of her guests. The garden was so beautiful and serene. So many photo opportunities. We were hoping for one of the many dragon flies to rest on our shoulders for good luck, but that didn’t happen. Instead, we settled for some dragon fly souvenirs from their cute gift shop. Their gift shop has a great selection of books and children's gifts, as well. We purchased a Louisiana cookbook, which was recommended by one of the sales associates, for my mother-in-law. My husband and I had been to the Laura Plantation before, during our last visit to NOLA, but this was a special birthday trip for my mother-in-law and we wanted her to experience Laura Plantation because it reminded my husband of where they were raised on Guam. Joseph, our tour guide, was very, very knowledgeable and was great at putting everything into perspective in today’s world. In fact, my husband and I enjoyed this visit better than our first. We learned so much more this time around.

If you are looking to experience a combination tour and educational museum, then this Houmas House & The Great River...
In my opinion, over priced and short. Based on the main house. No history of the rest of the property.
Wonderful day spent with a true New Orleans native whose family roots went back 300 years. Museum and map room were added delights. A peek into the past.
Our visit to the museum was enjoyable and enlightening. It was especially nice because we were treated to a guided introduction by the curator’s sister who just happened to be in the foyer when we arrived. Her passion and excitement for the displays and artifacts brought history to life.
