The bus driver was funny and knowledgeable and very helpful!
The good: The tour guides were nice. Bus drivers were knowledgeable. Plantation was beautiful and informative.
The bad: our hotel pickup was late and unbeknownst to us, we were holding up a van load of other tourists so when we got on the bus, the displeasure was noticeable. The driver kept mentioning our late arrival and impact to the time at the plantation. I have no idea why our pickup was late.
Rose, our plantation guide was great. So full of history and fun facts. She was as good as our driver back was bad.
Our bus driver was horrible, loud, yelled at passengers to get off the bus. She had on headphones while driving.

All the guides were super helpful and informative
We really enjoyed learning some of the history of the 2 plantations. They were both beautiful
Oak Alley and Laura are two plantations that are a must see in Louisiana! Oak Alley is incredibly beautiful and Laura has some fascinating stories. Both portray an honest depiction of the lives of the owners and slaves before and after the civil war.

Seeing the plantations was exciting and informative. I's like to make a special commendation to Pam, our guide at Laura Plantation. She was entertaining and completely captivating, making the history of the people and the place come alive. I'll recommend the tour to anyone I know who is going to New Orleans.
Our driver Enika was great! She was knowledgeable and accommating. I enjoyed the tours but was under the impression we would have more time at each plantation. We were rushed through Oak Alley and had no time to ask questions.
I am sorry but I can't recall the name of our tour guide at Laura plantation. She did an outstanding historical recount of the times and families at Laura. She was pleasant and blended in humorous comments through out the entire tour. Very enjoyable and educational. Our tour was on Tuesday March 12th.

Destrehan is a great place for anyone's first visit to a plantation. It's very close to New Orleans, only about a 36 min drive. Checking in is easy inside the gift shop and the majority of grounds are handicap friendly. The plantation home itself even has an elevator that can take you to the second floor! Our tour guide, Judy was very nice and dressed head to toe in her period costume despite the 90-degree heat and humidity. Very educational!

Logan was an excellent guide... extremely knowledgeable, with an engaging presentation. Thouroughly enjoyed this tour!
Suzanna was such a delightful tour guide at Houmas House. Not only was she informative, but sweet, polite, and patient towards all of her guests.
The garden was so beautiful and serene. So many photo opportunities. We were hoping for one of the many dragon flies to rest on our shoulders for good luck, but that didn’t happen. Instead, we settled for some dragon fly souvenirs from their cute gift shop. Their gift shop has a great selection of books and children's gifts, as well. We purchased a Louisiana cookbook, which was recommended by one of the sales associates, for my mother-in-law.
My husband and I had been to the Laura Plantation before, during our last visit to NOLA, but this was a special birthday trip for my mother-in-law and we wanted her to experience Laura Plantation because it reminded my husband of where they were raised on Guam. Joseph, our tour guide, was very, very knowledgeable and was great at putting everything into perspective in today’s world. In fact, my husband and I enjoyed this visit better than our first. We learned so much more this time around.
Tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable and kept tour fresh and engaging. Knew her stuff!!

Our bus driver gave us some great stories about the cities and the culture. We had amazing food for lunch which was a buffet. We went to 2 plantations, Oak Alley plantation and Laura Plantation. Both plantations were breath taking, however, our tour guide at the Laura plantation was so passionate about the history she really brought the experience to life. I want to give kudos to Lindie our Laura guide. Highly recommended
Everything went flawlessly. Our boat driver was so professional and personal at the same time. I’ve never had such a close up experience and not been afraid for my life! The alligator was litterally 3 inches away from us but our boat driver/ tour guide was in complete control. I would rate him and the experience as a 10 star rating !

The 2 homes we seen were the San Francisco and Oak Alley. Both were great places to visit and the tour guides both named Anne were great with the history and all the questions. Can't wait to visit more on our next trip.
San Francisco was a very colorful home, it is very beautiful. It is one of the least popular of the plantations but I believe it's worth the visit! I especially loved the different rooms with the hand painted ceilings (some even with REAL gold). The tour guide was very friendly and informative and knew a lot about the history of the home. There's a slave cabin and also what used to be a school house on the grounds, which was very fascinating to see. Overall, would definitely recommend if you have the time! Oak Alley Plantation is beautiful. The grounds are self-guided and house is guided. My favorite part is the gigantic oak trees that line up in the front of the plantation that are hundreds of years old. They have some slave houses (not original but supposed to be exact replicas) that give you an insight on what it was like back then to live as a slave. The house is gorgeous, and the guides walk you through the house telling you about the history and families that used to live there. They also have a great gift shop with tons of unique finds. They also have a deli/restaurant and a bar!
OAK ALLEY PLANTATION -- The parking lot is expansive and the area to check in is very clear as it’s a ticket booth upon entry. The grounds were BEAUTIFUL. The trees and small gardens were gorgeous. They also have a great gift shop with amazing pralines they hand make daily. They have a small restaurant and also a little cafe kind of to eat as well as a bar. They also have BNB’s there which I thought was rather unique. The grounds are large though and it is a lot of walking but at your own pace which I did prefer. The house tour was beautiful. I don’t feel like our tour guide really put much of a personal touch or flair on her tour… She did provide a lot of information about the house and the history. The house is definitely the fanciest set up for the day. They also had a small area for drinks just outside of the door which was nice because it started pouring down raining just before we exited.
SAN FRANCISCO -- Had a lovely tour here despite the rain! Phyllis was our tour guide and she was wonderful! She knew a lot of the history of the place and was actually passionate about it which draws you into the actual story and time. This tour is very much focused on the house and the history surrounding it and the plantation.

The tour was amazing, the tour guide was super friendly and he was very knowledgable about the property and the vast history of the home. He made it fun and enjoyable for everyone in the group!
This was my second time visiting Houmas House and it was even better than the last! We decided to start with lunch first at Cafe Burnside and omg it was incredible. The buffet is worth every single penny! The fried catfish was literally the best I've ever had and the bread pudding should have some kind of award! After we stuffed ourselves silly, we met up with our tour guide, Suzanna. She rang the bell and started our tour off with a bang! When you enter the house, it's like hearing that "AAAAAaaaaaaAHHHHHH" theme music. It's so gorgeous inside. I love all the stories that are told about the home and its' antiques, art and artifacts. Esp the vampire slayer kit from anne rice! This home is handicap accessible as well as are the grounds. The grounds actually remind me of a botanical garden. Go check this place out and ask for Suzanna as your tour guide, you won't be disappointed!
Our tour guide was awesome. I think her name was Sue Ellen, Bobby Sue, or something like that.
Super knowledgable, super friendly, made the whole experience come to life for my wife and i.
Thank you for a great experience.
