Arts and Design Society of Fort Walton Beach

The ADSO has over 200 members and occupies the Old City Hall Complex in downtown Fort Walton Beach, FL. Within the Arts and Design Society building, you will find a gallery and 2 studio areas, as well as the Lolly Carley Art Library. The Art gallery of the ADSO features local and regional pieces ranging from sculpture to acrylics, varying depending on shows, events, and special exhibits.

The Arts and Design Society holds 4 exhibitions through the year (from artsdesignsociety.org)

  • ->The Beaux Arts Exhibition in February is open to all artists and is displayed in the atrium of the Westwood Retirement Community. 

  • ->In May, the annual SE Regional Fine Arts Exhibition, a judged show now in it’s nineteenth year, is open to artists over 18 years old from southeastern states. This exhibition is on display for a month in the Mattie Kellies Art Galleries of Northwest Florida State College. The college faculty uses the show as a teaching tool by having students critique the entries.

  • ->The Photography-Digital Arts Exhibition in August is open to photographers and computer artists of all ages and displayed in ADSO’s Art Center gallery.

  • ->For fifty two years, ADSO’s NW Florida Fair Fine Arts Show has been held in conjunction with and sponsored by the NW Florida Fair. Through the sponsorship of the Fair Association, ADSO has been able to provide generous cash prizes, with a total of 271 artworks entered with as many as 1800 visitors per year.

Full Circle Gallery

The Full Circle Gallery in Fort Walton Beach features the artwork of many of the regions most talented artists. The gallery provides not only free-lance art pieces, but classes in painting, basket weaving, pottery, and children's art. Full Circle is owned by Mercedes Rodgers, a studio artist who resides in the Florida panhandle. According to Rodgers personal website, her work ranges from functional pottery to conceptual art pieces, and work at the gallery includes teaching pottery classes and curating the impressive gallery.

Full Circle Gallery Exhibits in the coming year are unique and exciting.

Meagan Hindel "Awakening Nature"

Full Circle Gallery is excited to present “Awakening Nature” local artist Meagan Hindel’s debut exhibition. Influenced by her love of nature and inspired by her relationship with animals, the collection is an expression of her fascination with animal behaviors in their environment. Resting and frolicking, the creatures Meagan paints and sculpt bring forth the spirit of each creature. The opening reception of "Awakening Nature" will take place June 13, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with the artist and see the collection she has created in the past year.

Northwest Florida Ballet

Northwest Florida Ballet is the city's creative heart, pumping out talented dancers from the Ballet Academy, and world-class ballet performances and classes. Northwest Florida ballet has been a staple of the dance community since founded in 1969 by dance pioneer Bernadette Clements Sims, and the Academy has taught some of the nation's greatest dancers including Joshua Grant, Lauren Post, and Kimalee Piedad of "Dancing With The Stars" fame. Northwest Florida Ballet also hosts performances and special events, taking on popular ballet performances of "The Nutcracker", "Swan Lake", and "Snow White". Stage Crafters Community Theatre, Inc.

Looking for a stage show in Fort Walton Beach? Stage Crafters Community Theatre features beloved plays portrayed by experienced actors and actresses. Both musical and non-musical shows premier every few months, and are affordable and open to the public. Stage Crafters Community Theatre is located near downtown Fort Walton Beach, directly across from the water, and they are a local theatre group, supplied by resident talent at its finest. Coming in 2015 are plays and musicals by two admired writers, Dan Goggin and Maxwell Anderson.
