The Garnier Post Office Museum is a historic building located in downtown Fort Walton Beach, and is a part of the Heritage Park & Cultural Center. Built in 1918, the Garnier Post Office has quite the story to tell, with artifacts and exhibits covering the local history from 1918, until 1956 when the post office closed. At this time, the mail came by boat from Pensacola, and the postmaster would deliver mail day or night; whenever it was necessary to do so.

A trip to the Garnier Post Office Museum truly takes visitors back in time, and allows guests to see Fort Walton Beach from a whole new perspective. Artifacts you may encounter include brown paper packages tied together with string, vintage stamps on display, mail slots with age-old letters still in place, and more! The Garnier Post Office Museum is a perfectly-preserved time capsule with historic treasures inside, and is a must-visit when exploring downtown Fort Walton Beach.
