John Beasley Park Visitors Guide

John Beasley Park, also known simply as Beasley Park, is a large public beach park located on Okaloosa Island, and is known for its iconic emerald green waters, white sand, an array of native flora and fauna, and spectacular scenic views! This is a preferred beach area among locals, families, and couples, as it is typically less crowded and more laid-back. Popular activities here include swimming, fishing, birding, looking for dolphins, having a picnic, watching a sunset, or simply enjoying some rest and relaxation!

This beautiful beach park has a historic and cultural significance, as well. It was the only beach in Northwest Florida that African Americans could use during the segregation era. The park was named after John C. Beasley from Montgomery, AL, who moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1941. He was known for being active in civic organizations, government, and efforts toward community advancement. A commemorative plaque was installed here in 2015.

3. Do we need a reservation to use one of the tables at the pavilion?
