Parking: Free parking is available off-site at 513 Harbor Blvd, Destin, Florida 32541 about 200' from departure location. Two vehicles are allowed per boat rental.
Departure Details: This rental departs from 500 Harbor Blvd, Destin, FL 32541 which is located on the South side of US Hwy 98 on Destin Harbor across from Taco Bell at 500 Harbor Blvd. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before departure. For any issues, please contact your provider, Sunshine Watersports, at 850-837-2299.
Boater’s License: A Temporary Florida Boater’s License is recommended and may be required for your activity! All drivers born on or after January 1, 1988, MUST obtain a license. Adults born BEFORE January 1, 1988, may operate a boat or personal watercraft without a Florida Boater License, so long as they have a valid driver’s license. However, in the interest of safety, we recommend that all drivers take the test and familiarize themselves with important boat safety rules. Gratuities: Although not required, it is always appreciated and encouraged to tip.

My experience with Half Day Sunshine Pontoon Rental was very disappointing. The customer service was unfriendly, unprofessional, and at times felt threatening.

I had a pontoon boat rental scheduled for 9:40 AM on a rainy day. By 8:00 AM, I had not received any call, text, or update regarding the reservation, so I called them myself. The person who answered seemed unsure about the situation and simply rescheduled my booking to 8:40 AM the next day.

A couple of hours later, around 10:00 AM, the weather improved significantly. Since I was leaving the following afternoon and accommodating a morning reservation would be difficult, I called back to ask whether I could be added to the schedule later that same day. The employee showed no interest in helping, abruptly ended the conversation, and offered no alternatives.

When I finally went on the trip, the rental was advertised as a 4-hour ride. However, the staff spent about 20 minutes conducting a driving test and completing paperwork after my scheduled time. Once I was given the boat, I was surprised to be told that my rental time had already started according to their schedule and that I would only have about 3 hours and 30 minutes remaining. I had actually arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled reservation time.

When I questioned this, I was told that my ride could be canceled. Instead of working with customers, the staff seemed more interested in enforcing their schedule regardless of the circumstances.

Overall, this was a frustrating experience and poor value for the money. I would not recommend this company due to the lack of customer service, poor communication, and unfair handling of rental time.

We loved having our own boat and it’s a beautiful area, Crab Island is great! The problem was that we weren’t allowed to park in the parking lot but had to move our vehicle across the street when there was at least 10-15 open spots. They said a tour was coming. Then when we got our boat, it was nothing like was advertised on line. It was an old, beat-up, rusty boat. The stereo system didn’t work, they gave us a portable speaker, nothing like what is shown on their website. We had a good day but don’t expect a new or nice boat, like everyone on their website. Also be prepared to park across a very busy street because a paying customer isn’t as valuable as a tour group.

The entire trip was perfect. Very appreciative of Bear bringing our stuff down to boat and back up to our car. Excellent customer service from the very second we got there until we returned.  Thanks again.

The guy at the front desk was rude we had to park away  from the parking lot and it look like we the only ones that had to everyone else that got off other boats was in company parking lot and down the road across the street  I do t understand but the guy who walk  us to the boat was nice the guy at the front don’t need to interact with customer need to work on his customer service skills .

4hr trip.   Parking sucked but Checkin was great.  Credited us whatever time it took for us to park off site..  Customer Srvc was great.  Boat in so so shape.  Outboard alarmed at us twice but was fine.  Wished for a bit more hp.  Rented from them previously amd would do it again.

Read experience great company.I think I would suggest this.You email out those waiver forms the night before is.If you have a lot of people , it takes a lot of time in the morning before you trip other than that the people awesome especially the young fellows who get the boat out of where it's docked and get some place easier to maneuver.
