Our Pilots will take you up to 9500 ft above the patchwork Canterbury Plains with spectacular Panoramic views west to the Mountains and east to the Pacific Ocean.
Launching from the famous foothills of Mt Hutt. The flight can only be described as exhilarating, gliding above the treetops and rising up to watch as the Canterbury Plains roll out in front of you. Then looking west you will see the majestic snow caped Southern Alps.

Hot Air Balloon Flights from Methven

Great views with a great pilot, weather was awesome, even seen Mt Cook, travelled at 6,000 feet, and cruised across farm land.

Camel in a balloon

What a wonderful day. Graham and his team were very professional and informative which added to the experience. Definitely would recommend this. It was lovely to be involved with the hands on aspect of the experience which made us feel part of a great team.

Awesome Experience

We were planning to do the hot air balloon trip on 30th December, but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate and we had to cancel. We tried again the next day, but the weather was still not on our side.

So we had to cancel the tour. However, the cancellation and rescheduling process was seamless and easy. They let us know a day in advance, which helped us heaps with planning our time. We will definitely go again.

Weather Didn’t Cooperate, Service Was Excellent

Dress nice and warm . It was nice to have a 6am start, to see the sunrise. The staff were top notch 👌 It was a wonderful surprise for my wife and daughter as a birthday shout.

Birthday bash

Amazing experience! A bit of waiting around beforehand and after as balloon is assembled and packed up. Nerve-racking and thrilling! Would recommend wearing a cap as the flame is really hot above your head.

Methven hot air balloon ride

What a wonderful experience! You get to help set up and break down the balloon ( It's work, but how many can say they did this?) The experience in the air is peaceful and so beautiful! It's well worth the small investment and champagne 🍾 (or mimosas) and muffins are more than a just reward! The staff is great and are such a solid team!

A Bucket List Item!

A great experience well worth the price, stunning views and great staff , would highly recommend it .

A great experience well...

Where to meet is a bit difficult to find. Needed to call when we got there. Team was very friendly and explained what was happening
