How did you discover this activity?

The DC at Dusk tour through TripShock was highly recommended by friends of ours who went earlier in the week. Since it was in the evening and we had only a day in DC to see any monuments, this was perfect for us.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked a few hours before the tour, after spending the day at a Smithsonian museum.

Why did you choose this activity?

This was our first time in Washington DC, so a bus tour that could take us to various memorials was much better than renting a car and navigating on our own.

How did you get to the activity location?

We took an Uber to the designated meeting spot, easy to locate but out of the way.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

Deion was the best tour guide ever - he explained why memorials were designed certain ways and the symbolism behind them, like listening to an artist. He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable in ways that were mesmerizing.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

I loved listening to the history of different buildings on the trip. Deion even pointed out the Daughters of the American Revolution Hall right by the White House, of which I’m a member, and learned things I didn’t even know about! Our guide was reverent about the Holocaust Museum and what its statues meant. He was so passionate about the gorgeous African American museum that I wanted to go as soon as possible! Plus getting to walk up to the monuments was refreshing.

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to learn about DC’s monuments and federal buildings, but also wants the opportunity to walk up close to see these memorials.
