The Activity we Experienced

What we chose to do

We Felt Spirits on our Ghost Tour

How did you discover this activity?

We were looking for affordable haunted tours while in New Orleans and TripShock was the least expensive of all other tours offered online.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked the night before our tour was scheduled. We wanted to do something fun our last night in the French Quarter and found this last minute.

Why did you choose this activity?

Our kids wanted to go on a haunted tour and our youngest loves vampire stories, so we Googled the tours and found TripShock. They were the least expensive along with the only ones with availability the day before we left New Orleans. I’m so glad we took the tour because they all enjoyed it!

How did you get to the activity location?

Our hotel was only a few blocks from where my fiance’s brother lived in the French Quarter, so we had him guide us to the meeting place after having a fabulous dinner on Bourbon Street.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

Both of our tour guides were very informative and entertaining in their stories, personal encounters, and historical events leading up to the town’s most haunted venues. We even experienced a stranger running up to our guide out of no where which startled us all, but he handled it with ease and remained calmed and was able to get back on track in just a few minutes. Professionalism was at it’s best!

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

While I’ll never remember all the haunting names like the tour guides were able to pronounce and give the back stories to, I’ll never forget the experience in itself, just seeing the oldest convent in the country along with the old brothels that are now haunted. My fiance felt a slight energy walking up to the most evil house included in the tour, and some of his pictures mysteriously disappeared after walking up to that house.

I personally clutched my belongings harder and kept my engagement ring secured while in the haunted bar because the ghost didn’t like couples who were in love. While nothing actually happened to me, I still felt an energy in that bar that made me want to leave as quickly as possible.

Our entire group will probably never forget the strange guy running up to our tour guide yelling something about it being a girl, but everything was going to be ok. Then the strange lady who wanted to touch our guide as if asking him if he was on. She was eerie, too.

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

I highly recommend this tour just for the experience on a budget. It’s fun, entertaining, full of energy, and informative.

Some of it was a bit spooky, but I’m sure it could get even more eerie if the spirits are aggitated enough. This tour is well worth the money for a two-hour guided walking tour around The French Quarter.
