The Activity we Experienced

What we chose to do

A Voodoo Tour with Perfect Timing

How did you discover this activity?

I looked the tour up online. The major selling point was that it had two time slots. I was on a girls’ trip and this was an activity I really wanted to do, but my friends said they wouldn’t go if it was at night.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked the tour within the hour of it starting. I wouldn’t recommend this, because we squeezed in by the hairs of our chinny, chin chins! There was a bachelorette party in our group so it worked out to our advantage.

Why did you choose this activity?

I have been to New Orleans several times, but never around Halloween. I thought this tour sounded right on the money as something unique to the time and place where we were.

How did you get to the activity location?

My friends and I had been hanging out on Magazine St. and we were trying to figure out what would be our one last thing to do before we went back to the hotel and changed into our Halloween costumes to then come back out and celebrate.

We know now that we could’ve and maybe should’ve just worn the costumes on the tour since we wouldn’t have been alone!

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

Scott was AWESOME!!! He had a very engaging way of telling a story that kept everyone interested. He also had a good sense of humor and rolled with the punches when bystanders would “add” to the stories!

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

The timing of this tour was perfect because it didn’t freak my friends out that it was dark out yet. However, dusk fell during the tour and the gradual decent into the nighttime was awesome.

The city was starting to turn into the Friday night before Halloween. When our tour was over, it was serendipitous that a parade was coming down the street! A band, a couple different groups of dancers, and a few trucks of people throwing beads and candy came down the street.

It was a great way to start our last night in NOLA!

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end our trip. The tour was just the right amount of time we needed to keep occupied, but it offered us so much history that it ended up being one of our favorite activities all week!
