The Activity we Experienced
What we chose to do
Historical Narrative You Won't Find in Books
How did you discover this activity?
We found it on Google under “things to do in New Orleans.”
When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?
We booked on Thursday for the Friday cruise.
Why did you choose this activity?
We wanted to see the river and were intrigued by the promise of New Orleans history.
How did you get to the activity location?
The docking was right next to our hotel. We were staying at Hilton Riverside.
What was your experience with the activity’s staff?
The staff was so courteous and professional. The historian was so knowledgeable and entertaining, as well.
Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?
The dining room was beautiful and comfortable. The historical narrative included some interesting side stories that we would not find in the books! The bar staff was as informed as the narrator, and served the best drinks with a smile and a story!
There was tug that passed us pushing 6 different barges. We were amazed how swift the river current was flowing. The Battle of 1812 battlegrounds were so very interesting. The plantation house was especially beautiful!
Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?
Yes! This was such a fun way to see the river and interact with local history. The beauty of the river banks and the constant movement of commercial river vehicles kept us engaged the whole trip.
