How did you discover this activity?

We were looking to do a swamp tour specifically on an airboat in the New Orleans area. TripShock had the best deal so we booked immediately.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked just a few days ahead of the tour, as weather was questionable all week. We ended up with perfect weather!

Why did you choose this activity?

We really wanted to take a swamp tour and thought it would be even more fun to do it on an airboat. When else would we have this opportunity?

How did you get to the activity location?

We drove from New Orleans to where our swamp tour would begin. It was only about 40 minutes away, and was an incredibly easy drive!

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

Everyone in the store was incredibly friendly and our Captain was fantastic. He was funny and knowledgeable. He really made the experience memorable.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

We saw so many alligators on the swamp tour. Earl knew where all the best spots to see alligators were. So, he’d stop the boat in the middle of an area and we’d immediately have alligators coming towards the boat. It was so cool! Earl would throw out marshmallows so the alligators would come up near the boat, and he would even let the kids on the boat throw some marshmallows to the alligators, too.

We got to see a huge alligator that was about 14 feet long, and we even saw an alligator nest. The most memorable moment was when Earl grabbed an alligator by its tail right out of the swamp! It’s hard to be afraid of the gators when our Captain was so comfortable around them, and I’m sure many people on the boat felt much better thanks to Earl.

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

This tour was great for us! We wanted a swamp tour on an airboat and that’s exactly what we got (plus so much more). I would recommend this tour to anyone over the age of 5. Children 5 and under are not allowed to ride on the airboat. It’s a great way to see nature you would otherwise never get the chance to experience.
