Several people in our group had never done a cemetery tour. They were very interested in being given a guided tour of this area.

Our guide was very friendly and humorous. He kept us engaged during the tour by asking questions and involving us in the process of history telling.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

I found this tour to be very insightful. I had been on tours in New Orleans before. James was, by far, the best guide I have had. He pointed out interesting architecture and told history about certain places that I hadn’t heard on previous tours.

Because he is a musician from New Orleans, he had a lot of insight into the cemetery and why certain people are buried there. I appreciate his thoughtfulness regarding the heat, and he made sure we were all okay and stayed hydrated.

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

Yes, I would definitely recommend. Ask for James! He is a native of New Orleans, and is well acquainted with insider historical facts.
