The Activity we Experienced

What we chose to do

The History of the French Quarter was Very Interesting

How did you discover this activity?

I found TripShock through Groupon. I read the reviews of several offerings and decided to try this one because of the price, variety of stories, and other reviews.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

I purchssed my tour voucher on Monday and easily got a spot for the next day.

Why did you choose this activity?

I really wanted to hear and learn more about the occult history of the French Quarter. I hoped for something intense and bordering on keeping me awake at night because I think being scared can be fun. The stories were not scary but they were definitely informative, fun, and enjoyable. I’d say most school-aged children could handle the stories. They were great tales about the French Quarter’s haunted history.

How did you get to the activity location?

I stayed at a hotel in the French Quarter and was able to walk to the meeting place for the tour with no trouble. The tour guides had a large company poster with them that made it easy to locate them and know that I joined the correct tour group as there were, understandably, many different tours going on in the area at the same time.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

The tour guides were colorful and charismatic. They told us safety rules for keeping up with the tour, how to be cooperative and responsible tourists while navigating the busy area, and they made sure we had fun.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

I am not a huge history buff, but I must say the stories linked to the history of the French Quarter were interesting. It was really awesome to hear and understand major events that shaped this fantastic area. I still had two days in the area after the tour and the tour gave me confidence for moving around and seeing where things were located. Because of the tour, there were several business I went back to visit on my own time.

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

Again, the walking tour is perfect for seeing the area and identifying awesome spots to visit later. I learned a lot and had fun. We made stops that gave people time to rest, take nature breaks, grab a drink, and buy some stuff. It was really great and the Groupon made it less than $14, I think. I had a great time and recommend this tour.
