Everything was awesome! The instructor was attentive and made sure we were safe. I’m not from South Carolina so when it says dolphin tour, I thought it meant more than just barely looking at fins in the distance that could have been anything. Otherwise I had a great time.

Danny was our guide and he was wonderful! Young guy that was super friendly and helpful with kids (13 & 9). We didn't see dolphins but had a blast free riding in the ocean. Definitely well worth the money and we will be back next year!

Awesome Family Experience, well worth the money!

I am aware that no one has control of whether or not a dolphin encounter would be had on the North Myrtle Beach Jet ski tour, however communication with the tour guides explaining what is going on would help manage expectations.

In the description of the tour it said we would go to a beach to collect some shells and also go out to the ocean to have an opportunity to see dolphins so that is what I was expecting.

Upon arrival my boys and I were hopeful for what was ahead on our jet ski adventure.  The guides did a great job making sure we knew how to operate the jet ski and gave us directions on where to go and follow the person a head of us to get to the ocean.

All is good and we arrive out on the ocean and we are told to ride around for a bit but make sure to stay away from boats and be back by them in about 10mins.  So I’m like ok sweet we get to ride around on the jet ski in the open ocean for a bit on our own and we will reconvene to see dolphins.

To our dismay we returned to the guides after 10 mins and I asked when will we be looking to see dolphins?  To which they replied there aren’t any out here right now.  

Puzzled, I followed up with ok that would have been helpful to know when we got out here to better “guide” us on what was going on. 

So I followed it up with well then when will we be going to a beach to find some shells and such?  To which the guide responded we won’t be doing that as our group is too big.  I was puzzled a second time.

And the guides proceeded to corral the group and direct us back to the channel to make our way to jet ski landing.

So if you are looking to rent a jet ski for an idled jet ski ride down a channel get to the ocean and bum around for 10mins on your own this is the tour for you.  

If you are hoping to see some dolphins or at least be instructed on where to possibly see some and collect some cool shells on a beach like the description of this tour initially suggested, I might suggest asking some pointed questions and asking the guides or booking agent to be forthright with you to better manage your expectations prior booking this tour.

Expectation Management

Our tour guide Danny was excellent. It was my first time doing something like this and he was so encouraging and positive. It was a great experience that I can say I've done.

Extraordinary experience

One of the customers was incredibly inexperienced on the jet ski which caused the rest of the group to have less time in the ocean actually seeing dolphins.   Lots of sitting and floating in the inter coastal waterway waiting for them to catch up.  

While not directly the tours fault, the guide should have recognized their lack of ability and taken them back to be on another tour as to not take away from the experience of the rest of the group.  

The other patrons kept speeding up to the dolphins and causing the dolphins to leave the area we were in as well.  

The guide should have been more forceful with direction to improve the experience for all.

Underwhelming Experience Due to Other Customers

Two hour waverunner ride in ocean waters. Guide Pete was great. No dolphins that day. The ride was so much fun. Pete recognized that the other two riders in our group were less experienced and called in another guide to take them and we continued on with Pete. The experience would have been much different if we had to continue with the slower moving riders. Appreciated this move. Riding the ocean waves was outstanding.

Fantastic

We did the 2 hour dolphin tour on the jet ski. It was so much fun! We ended up being the only ones in our group. We had a fabulous time and got to see several pods of dolphins. The guide was great about pointing them out to us and helping us find them. Even had a little free time to just ride the waves. Definitely recommend this tour and will do it again if we are in the area.

<p>My boyfriend and his brother have gone before, they said it was fun and I had always wanted to go on a jet ski.</p>

<p>We drove about 45 to get there, and parking was so easy.</p>

<p>Our tour guide, Hunter, was knowledgeable on how to have the safest but most fun ride. And the other workers helped get us going fast, and when we returned, they were quick to get us out</p>
<h2>Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?</h2>
<p>When we made it out to the ocean we had some extra time to do some free riding! It was so fun and not too windy so the waves weren’t awful! When we got back in the inlet, there was some spots where we could go fast and it was just incredible. We didn’t  get to see any dolphins, but we saw a whole lot of ocean and wildlife. There was other boats and jet skiers out there, but everyone followed the rules and stayed away so there was no accidents or anything, just smiles and laughs.</p>
