The Activity we Experienced

What we chose to do

We Took our Boat to Crab Island to Float!

How did you discover this activity?

We found TripShock on Google when looking for a pontoon boat to rent in Destin. They had the best deal for an all day rental.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked the rental at 10:00pm the night before. We called and verified the next morning that it was booked.

Why did you choose this activity?

We rent a pontoon every time we come to Destin, so that we can go to Crab Island.

How did you get to the activity location?

We took a short, 15-minute drive down Okaloosa Island.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

The transaction was simple.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

If you ever make a trip to Crab Island, you will never want to go anywhere else. We come at least once a year to Destin, because they are known for their beautiful, emerald-green water. Crab Island is even better! You have shallow waters that the children can play in with no waves. You can snorkel and find hermit crabs, as well (not ones you can take home, but they are fun to catch and put back).

Our favorite thing is to tie floats to the boat... and do exactly that, float! There are ice cream boats that drive around, but this time we bought fresh coconuts and pineapples from a vendor driving around on the water. They have vendors that are stationery out there for food and rentals. There is a General Store for buying things you may have forgot, and you can see puppies with their vests on playing fetch in the water. I have traveled to many beautiful places, but Destin will be where I retire.

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

I would absolutely recommend this. You will not be disappointed. Not only is Crab Island a wonderful spot to anchor for the day, if you drive under the bridge to the pass, just drive around for a bit, but be sure to stay away from the Gulf. You will see dolphins following the boats in and out. Don’t be impatient, allow at least an hour of driving around the pass, you will see a dolphin.
