Venture out to sea for a fishing journey of epic proportions aboard the Sweet William III. From 4 hour trips to...
It was great. Captain Bill and first mate Kirk we're knowledgeable and helped us every step of the way. Captain caught us a mahi mahi. All around great trip and we'd book with them again.
Captain Bill and deckhand Curt was simply amazing. We took an 8 hour trip and went out about 30 miles out. We caught Mingos, Black Snapper, white snapper. We did catch some Red Snapper and Trigger fish but these were not in season so we had a some catch and release going on as well. We even reeled in a BULL Shark. It took several people reeling him in, he made it up to the boat, but got loose as he approached the back of the boat.A Big Thank you to Captain Bill and Deckhand Curt for making our fishing experience simply wonderful! I will be fishing with this captain again for sure!!! and also a BIG Thank you to Tripshock for booking me this charter and making it all happen!
For starters, I own a 33 foot boat. I've captained large parties before. So I know a bit about this. I've also been on many deep sea fishing excursions. Our Captain was terrible. He didn't once say a word to us. He didn't introduce himself, didn't point out where the life jackets where, didn't even so much as look at us. And his deck hand was 17 years old and super green. Every once in a while, the Captain duck out of the bridge to yell at his helper about the rigs not being set correctly. To be fair, it was pouring rain and we had 10 foot swells to deal with. A major storm had been in place for about 12 hours. But the simple fact is that the Captain should have called off the trip. It was me and my three boys...ages 11, 9, and 7. We had no business being out there...and the Captain knew it. And judging by his older appearance, he knew there was no chance we'd catch a thing...which happened to be the case. We got tossed around for 2.5 hours...and I had to call it early because it was too dangerous with the rain, wind and swells. We got two bites the entire time and my boys didn't once even touch a fishing rod. $750...and didn't touch a rod on a fishing trip...what a colossal let down. It was a total joke and complete waste of $750. I will be sure to tell everyone one I know about this experience, the captain, and tripshock.

BEST FISHING TRIP EVER!!!
Been coming to this area the last 6 years and doing fishing trips. They were fair to awful. We hit the jackpot this year w Sweet William Boat Charters. Crew was excellent, helpful and knew where to go to get the fish. Caught several fish including a 50 lb Cobia. Will definately come back to Sweet William!!

Sweet William lol fishing

Boat needs some much needed TLC, couldn't stay on the fish due to the current and didn't drift fish very well. Good point, the Captain knew where the fish where.

Deep sea bottom fishing

Was good fishing. Only problem was the fish were small but plenty. We were told small hooks worked best and it did for small fish. I am not a fish expert but was left wondering if bigger hooks and bait might of landed us a bigger fish. All in all satisfied.

Looking forward to our next trip

I would highly recommend Captain Bill and his First Mate Danny. We took the 8 HR trip and they made it absolutely wonderful! This will be a memory that my Son and I will cherish for the rest of our life. The boat was very nice and they were very polite, fun and all around awesome. We caught so many fish!! The Captain sure knows where to go. A shout out to Danny for being so helpful and informative....he knows his stuff and sure did a fantastic job at filleting our catch. We will be returning customers for sure. If you are looking to go out....book "Sweet William".....you will be well satisfied. Being with a Great Captain and Mate make all the difference....can't say enough about how much we enjoyed it. Looking forward to our next trip
Great boat, crew and trip!

Went fishing the end of July with Capt Bill and had a great time! We were doing so great with our catch that we even ended up staying out a couple extra hours. Captain was very knowledgable about the area and put us on some great spots. We caught our limit on mingo snapper, limit on kings and had plenty of bonitas and triggers that we got to fight to the boat. The boat was great for our family, the inside cabin was climate controlled so we were able to sit inside while we traveled from spot to spot if we wanted. It was also great cause of how hot it was out there, having a place to cool down and store our food/drink was great! Once we got back to the dock they cleaned our catch and we were able to feed the entire family for our last couple days in Destin. We definitely recommend this captain to anyone wanting to spend a day on the water.
Not what we expected
We were completely misinformed and expected far more out of our trip for what we paid and what the description had listed. The cabin was NOT climate controlled so my family, 4 of which were children, spent 6 hours baking inside a 90+ degree cabin with very limited space due to all the junk. We all were sick as dogs by the end of the trip even though we took plenty of dremimine..from the severe heat. We were disappointed in the fish we caught as well. When we pulled up to the docs everyone around us had really cool, large fish and sharks...we had very small fish...nothing you would expect from a deep sea fishing trip. There were about 6 other boats showing their catch and my kids were more interested in the other boats and fish than the one we were on. The boat also claimed to have bunks and a cabin with Bluetooth music, tv, bunk, fridge, microwave, etc.. ....we were not once offered use of any of the listed amenities...the cabin was stuffed so full of junk we couldn't have went in if we wanted to...the toilet was leaking fluids all over the floor, the "bunks" were actually just long coolers with dirty blankets over them, the tv didn't turn on, the air was not working, the deck hand didn't properly fit a pole support and when it fell into the water he used profanity in front of my children. There were such strong smells of rotten fish and oil that it was almost unbearable. The captain and deck mate didn't really speak to us unless we spoke to them..and they were fishing off the top getting their lines tangled with ours
