Encompassing 177 steps, the Pensacola Lighthouse & Maritime Museum offers one of the most beautiful views on the Gulf Coast. Congress authorized $6,000 for the Pensacola Lighthouse in March of 1823. In 1869, The Keeper’s Quarters of the Pensacola Light Station was built. Visitors can enjoy a glimpse into the past at this working lighthouse, which is still an active aid to navigation.
