The Activity we Experienced
What we chose to do
We Had an Up-Close Encounter with Many Dolphins
How did you discover this activity?
We found TripShock through Google. They had the best prices for the trip we wanted.
When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?
We booked the day before our trip.
Why did you choose this activity?
We have tried a similar trip with a different company the year before. The trip was fine, but we were with a big group, and our time out was limited to three hours. The captains were great, but it just didn’t fit our needs. However, we love Crab Island and wanted something a little less crowded for our trip. This was a private boat with just our family onboard, and we even got to fit in seeing dolphins up-close-and-personal!
How did you get to the activity location?
We drove to the dock where we went out on the boat.
What was your experience with the activity’s staff?
Captain Elaine was so awesome! She is so knowledgeable in all things marine life, and had so many cool stories to tell about the local area. She even got us so close to the dolphins, we could’ve reached out and touched them. She even caught a blue crab, and let all the kids get up-close-and-personal with it, while telling us all about them. She had a cooler and ice for all of our snacks and beverages, and kept our favorite jams playing on the boat!
Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?
THE DOLPHINS!!! We got so close and saw so many! We even saw some sharks, which was so neat for some Texans visiting Florida. We have done a dolphin excursion before in Destin, but the boat was so big that you could only see the dolphins from a far distance. In the smaller boat, we could see them so much closer, and they even showed off a little for us. This was definitely an experience we’d want to relive several times over!
Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?
Absolutely! It is unlike any other Crab Island trip and very personal for smaller groups.
