How did you discover this activity?

I found TripShock on Google when I was searching to find deep-sea fishing trips. I was able to easily filter the date and find what type of charter I wanted. There were a variety of charters available and they each were easy to navigate through. I believe I found the best deal on the semi-private charter, Gulf Breeze.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

I booked my trip 5 days in advance. I meant to do it a couple of weeks prior but was happy I was still able to book a deep-sea fishing trip so close to time.

Why did you choose this activity?

My son and I love to go freshwater fishing for crappie and bass and decided since we were going to be down in Florida visiting family we would also go deep-sea fishing to create some awesome memories. My son wanted to fish for grouper but was happy to see a strawberry grouper that someone else caught.

How did you get to the activity location?

I drove from Navarre, Florida to Destin, Florida. Unfortunately, the traffic was awful a mile from the harbor over the bridge. I was glad I allowed extra time to get there. My 20-mile drive turned into a 55-minute drive. Parking was terrible and everything was packed and there were a ton of cars trying to find parking. I had to park many blocks away and walk. It took me 30 minutes to find parking.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

The captain and crew members on the Gulf Breeze were so courteous and accommodating. They were very knowledgeable on all levels and very friendly. One of the crew members, Mat (I think was his name), helped my son bait his hooks and was extremely helpful.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

The highlights will definitely be being able to catch fish. The whole experience I’ll never forget. The ride out there wasn’t terrible (if you don’t have an uneasy stomach) and it was easy to bait and drop the line. I was surprised at how quickly they would bite the boat. Almost as soon as the weight hit the bottom they would bite the bait. It was important to straighten your line quickly once the weight hits the bottom.

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

Absolutely! My son and I do so many things together and love making memories of fishing. We love the outdoors and will continue to do anything we love to do.
