How did you discover this activity?

I was looking for things to do in Destin, and my husband suggested deep sea fishing. We did not want to spend our entire vacation budget on one thing, and going through TripShock saved us a chunk of money!

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked this about 3-4 weeks ahead.

Why did you choose this activity?

My husband has been deep sea fishing before and he loved it. This was also something I knew my daughter would enjoy. We saw dolphins too. It was a fishing trip and dolphin trip in one!

How did you get to the activity location?

We drove down to Mobile, AL, to stay, and then drove to Destin, FL, the next day. It was a good drive, and you definitely need to make time for traffic. It takes about double the time you expect, but it’s definitely worth the wait.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

The Captain was great! He found great spots and was very informative. The crew helping us with our fishing poles and unhooking the fish were very friendly, helpful, and understanding.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

The hard work these guys put in to make this trip a success was amazing. From the time we boarded the boat, these men were enthusiastic and made this trip exciting. They made their way around the boat helping each and everyone of us and encouraging us.

Even after we made it back to the shore they helped us off the boat, took pictures of each family holding fish, and then cleaned and cut our fish the way we wanted. We cannot wait to come back!

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

I would recommend this tour to anyone and everyone, but I would agree that this isn’t for small children under 7. My daughter is 7, and she had a great time, but those poles are heavy so she wasn’t able to hold one. A fish would have pulled her into the Gulf. So, definitely a great trip for young adults up to elders!
