The Activity we Experienced

What we chose to do

We Had a Blast on the Sea Blaster

How did you discover this activity?

We were staying near Destin and wanted to do something more than just another beach day, so we Googled “things to do in Destin.” The TripShock website came up and offered a great deal on a dolphin cruise/snorkeling activity.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked two days in advance.

Why did you choose this activity?

We wanted something family-friendly and active. We also wanted to be in the water a lot, because it was HOT out! When we saw this activity, it fit the bill perfectly, so we signed up!

How did you get to the activity location?

Getting to the harbor was pretty easy. We found parking in the adjacent garage, and found the kiosk easily.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

The captain and crew of the boat were great. They were fun and accommodating, and the kids and adults had a great time with them!

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

We loved snorkeling, and my kids (ages 7 and 10) picked it up easily. We saw all sorts of pretty fish and really enjoyed ourselves. When we headed back to the boat, the kids had the opportunity to jump off the side, and they LOVED that! They did it probably 5 times each, and laughed and screamed with delight with each jump.

The crew was great to pass around wine (zinfandel) and beer (Bud Light). The wine wasn’t high quality, but it was tasty and a nice perk, for sure. The crew kept everyone’s drinks filled if they wanted more. My kids don’t have much soda, but I let them have some and they appreciated that!

Seeing the dolphins and even a shark or two was really neat. The captain was really good to find them and point them out, and then move the boat around to the best viewing spot. After we saw some dolphins, the captain let each kid take a turn driving and getting their picture taken while doing it - which my kids thought was awesome.

Then, we sat back and enjoyed a lovely boat ride with music playing and sea spray splashing up on us to keep us cool (and some water squirters that the crew had to playfully spray passengers)!

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

Absolutely! It was great for adults (my husband and I, age 36, and my sister, age 25) and my two kids (ages 7 and 10). Everyone had a blast!
