The Activity we Experienced

What we chose to do

Dolphins Were Everywhere During the Main Part of Our Sunset Cruise

How did you discover this activity?

I was searching online for a sunset dolphin excursion for all of us. Mostly everything was booked up until the following Saturday, and it was only Wednesday when I was looking online to book. I found this one on TripShock and booked it online easily.

When did you book your tour compared to the departure date?

We booked the day before on TripShock.

Why did you choose this activity?

We always wanted to do a sunset dolphin excursion, so we were looking at our options and found this one. It was a good size boat and we wanted to have space to move around, so we chose this one from the options we had available before we had to leave to head home. We booked this trip the day before we went!

How did you get to the activity location?

We drove down through the main strip on Front Beach and Thomas Drive to get to the Marina. It was fairly easy to get to and it had lots of parking available.

What was your experience with the activity’s staff?

The staff was nice overall. The captain was helpful in letting us know which side of the boat the dolphins were on, and during navigation he told us where we were, and pointed out Shell Island and other boats near us. The captain also let my son get in his quarters to act like he was driving and turning the wheel where he directed him to. The man who was also helping on the main bottom deck we were on was also very nice. He spoke to guests in a friendly manner and answered questions from the other guests on board as we sailed through the dolphins and back to the marina.

Highlights or memories you and your group will take from the trip?

Dolphins were everywhere during the main part of our sunset cruise! We had to move around the deck depending on which side they chose to be on as we moved around, but we saw many dolphins during our time on the water! They were splashing around near our boat and the other boats out there... playing and slapping their tails on the water! When we first headed out, we also had fun feeding the birds Cheetos that they provided. The birds would swoop right down and take them out of our hands. The birds followed us all the way out of the marina, just sailing above us gracefully! The trip was an hour and a half long, but when we were out there watching dolphins play, it seemed to fly by and we were heading back before we knew it! My son also got a chance (while on board) to go to the captain quarters, and he let him guide the boat and turn the wheel as we sailed out of the marina and by Shell Island! That was very cool to let the kids join in and have some fun! Overall, this was a good, fun trip for the price and we would do it again when we go back, but arrive earlier to get seats up top in the open area so we could see better and have more space to move around. Great experience and we saw many dolphins while on this excursion!

Would you recommend this activity to another group like yours? Why or why not?

I would recommend to others who have smaller groups. Larger groups would be harder, especially if you end up on the bottom deck since it is small down there. We were a group of 4 and the bottom deck downstairs wasn’t full in the seats. If it had been full, there’s no way we could have seen anything because we wouldn’t have been able to even get outside on the open deck if that were the case. If you have little ones who are short, arrive early so you can be on the top open deck because their is more space to move around on each side and see easier without being crammed in a small deck, and having to ask others to move over just so you can see off the bow.
